Description
Mt Everest, otherwise known as Chomolungma. In Tibetan meaning: Goddess Mother Mountain, in Nepali meaning: One Whose Forehead Touches the Sky.The Everest base camp trek is no doubt one of the most famous trekking destination of the world.This trip is for those who wish to get high an altitude,see the biggest mountain on earth and can handle the cold climate which exists any time of the year so trekking adventure might requires physical and mental strength.The highest mountain of the world is the ultimate dream of all trekkers and mountaineers.Our trek starts after a breathtaking 40 minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla in the Khumbu region,we land and then we start our trek by passing through chaurikharka village,after a short walking from here we arrive in ghat and we continue walk to Pkhakding, where we spend overnight accommodation in guesthouse.
We continue trekking along the banks of the Dudh Kosi,crossing the majestic rivers many time an exciting suspension bridges laden with prayer flags.After entering Sagarmatha National Park,the trail climbs steeply with breathtaking views,Namche Bazzar known as the Gateway of Everest which is home of many quality restaurants,hotels,lodges,shops,Money exchange,Internet cafe and a bakery.Namche is one of the biggest village along the whole Everest trail.
We will spend a day here in order to acclimatize and adjust to the thinning of the air.This day aids acclimatization and there are great optional walks to enjoy the area.In our rest day in Namche bazzar we can go hike up to Khunde Hospital,which was built by Sir Edmung Hillary in 1966,and also we visit Khumjung Hight Schoool too.Then next day we follow the trail to famous Tengboche,In Tengoche you will see the Local monastery.Inside the monastery are incredible ornate wall hangings,a 20-foot sculpture of Buddha,and the musical instruments and robes of the Lamas.
From here the trail drops to Dingboche,we take here another acclimatization day before heading to Lobuche.After rest day here the trail continues along the lateral moraine of Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who had perished on nearby summits.Then we trek to Gorak shep it takes 3 hours from Lobuche to Gorak shep,here we take our lunch and after lunch we trek to Everest Base Camp(5,364m) and back to Gorak Shep for overnight accommodation.The next day we climb to Kalapattar(5,545m),from here we can see awesome views of Mt Everest,Ama Dhablam,Thamserku,Lhotse and Khantega.This trek visits both,Everest base camp and Kalapattar,a view point recognized as the best advantage point to see Mt.Everest which is a premier goal for many adventurous trekkers in the Himalaya.From Kalapattar we head back down the trail to Lukla,via Namche Bazzar.Then flight back to Kathmandu.
